Oh how I love the Yabanci Police
Those who work hard to keep Turkey at peace.
I love the long lines and the smiling faces,
Women in headscarves pushing for spaces.
The blue stamp is good - you can live like a Turk
The red stamp is bad - you must leave your work.
'Sorry my friend, your visa's not valid'.
But at least the cafe serves 2-lira salad.
Every trainee must go at least once in their stay
And every trainee must spend 8 hours of their day
Waiting and hoping and filling out pages
We do all of this for our low-level wages
But we go with a smile 'cause we know in the end
We can stay here in Istanbul with our Turkish friends

I wanted to say that it is a wonderful idea having creating this blog and I miss you all so much!
It is nice to see that some people are still in Istanbul!!!!!

I am preparing our party for Christmas and I am wondering if you can see some father christmas in Istanbul?! the real question is: Is Istanbul so international??? lol

everything is ok in France: it is not the war :-) and I hope you all enjoy your life.

Hi guys, Finally someone hear's grandpa's call...okay I am only Niccu's grandpa, however we should be clear on what we want to use this blog for and how different it is going to be from Istanbul trainees yahoogroup. Of what I understand this is more of a space to document experiences, special occasions, refelections, good bye's etc. Some suggestions for the blog master. We can think of adding the following tools to the blog.

A Flickr Photo badge
A Geo-Loc world map (To see where the blog is being viewed)
A blog hit counter.
A subscribe to blog feed. Ok ok i know you are no techie but you can find this quickly on search.

Some of us trainees from the past have made a blog to keep in touch with each other and it works like a hot knife through butter. Check it out http://istanbul603.blogspot.com

The inaugural post of the official Istanbul Trainee blog. I'll keep it short and sweet:
Our experiences in Istanbul, no matter how long, deserve to be documented so that someday we can all look back and think: damn, I used to live with 15 roommates and eat doner every day for lunch.
